Hi I'm new here, got a few questions

Hey sup guys i'm new here, just picked up my used subaru yesterday but got a few questions for you guys. I came from a honda so the boxer engine is new to me.

First question is i noticed i have yellow springs on the car. I know the car was modified before but i'm not sure about these springs. They can't possibly be stock could they? Also i have a blue swaybar in the rear. Anyone know the brand of these?

Also a greddy boost guage was included with the car but I don't know how to install it. From the looks of it and from some researching, it looks like one side needs to be plugged into the T connection and the other to the ecu ? If you guys can give me some pointers that would be great.

I'm looking to start modifying this car but don't know where to start. Probably a mbc, up-pipe or downpipe, exhaust?

One thing i noticed with the car is its hard to get into reverse. I try to shift into it smoothly but it doesnt happen, i have to try at least 5 times.

Thanks for the help in advance guys.

I don't know about the suspension but you should get exhaust before messing with boost.

The stubborn reverse gear is normal. Just put it in first then reverse or let the car roll a little bit first.

And CONGRATULATIONS!

Springs could be whiteline. I believe they are usually yellow.

take it to the dealer or a good mechanic just to make sure the previous owner didn't break anything w/ his mods

at least you don't have to worry about a break-in period

congrats!

damn you guys are fast! thanks for all the replies. Why do you recommend an exhaust before the mbc? I want to switch out the springs for a lower drop like s-tech's or perrins. Do you guys know good shops in the bay that would install them? I'd like to get an exhaust also but i'll have to wait and find a good one used.

MPJ Performance/GB Motorsports in Hayward for install and buying parts from. Great guys.

And do not get an MBC before you hook up the boost gauge. Exhaust makes a difference.

ill definitely look into mpj. I'll have to do some more research on the reflash although i heard it does give very good gains. I'm not on stock rims but on subzeros and falken azenis, so the tires aren't bad.

First on the list of things to do is get the tint removed. Anyone know where to get it done? I'm also looking for a lip to buy and i've been searching, can't seem to find a website of some sort. The sti version 1 and the oem lip are the two that look appealing to me alon gwith the prodrive lip. Anyone know where to get those?

Thanks for all the advice again guys.

All your parts belong to MPJ. Hit 'em up for anything you need man. They kinda know what they're talking about...sometimes. Oh and I'd go with the MBC first since it's cheaper and it's a better bang for your buck
