o yeah, aparently in japan it is normal for young schoolgirls to have relationships with old businessmen.
Initial D is a really good teen anime IMHO, although it's got the racing and stuff, it takes a lot of time to address issues faced by contemporary youth in Japan. scriptwriting gets an A in my book.,
Although as many a fan will tell you, the Manga is possibly 10X better. I dunno, there's just stuff a graphic novel can do that moving picture can't

Anyone notice that all the AWD drivers: Takeshi, Kyouichi, Seiji, and the celica guy are all portrayed as arrogant, overconfident jerks? (jerks for lack of a better word) We get little/no love

Yeah, the Celica guy in the 3rd stage is the Benz' guy's son. (Also the same guy who Takumi beat the snot out of in his flashbacks)
...and talk about no love, more than half the awd drivers in the anime hit walls! XD
Dependending on tolerance levels, the manga is alot better than the anime is, if not for the more in depth they go with the storyline n such, not to mention the fact that the animated portion only covers up to like book 17, while book 27 was the most recently released tankobon.
Plus in the manga, you get to see Bunta's WRX

and isn't natsuki in the manga ACTUALLY a *****? in compared to being just a **** in the anime...
i don't know...tokyopop really made some bad business moves for initial d. i thought that teh complaints was good enough that they kept the original music though i just know so much, i won't touch the tokyotrash with a 15 foot pole, though i'm forced to play the american version of arcade stage with the stupid named
