A bit more context please.
That was exactly what I was thinking. The bus drivers are getting off early.

I'm wondering if they're sure that the kid even rear ended the truck to begin with. Seems to me with how far that bus is stuck up that dudes butt that maybe the truck stopped in time and it was actually the bus that caused the whole ordeal.

The second bus you can kind of feel for because they can't see much beyond the bus in front of them (should be following farther behind). But the first bus looks to be the one that should be held at fault here. Just because someone was texting doesn't mean they caused the accident.

I try to keep it to a minimum but I have texted while driving and I've had people nearly cause an accident with me... One of them nearly drove me off the road. Should I be held responsible for that person's poor driving because I was texting? Hell the only reason I saw them was because I turned my head to put my phone in my cup holder. In all actuality my texting stopped an accident.

There were many at fault besides one right here.

In any case, that sucks.

I highly doubt they will be able to completely outlaw usage of handsfree devices. Think about the bluetooth headunits a lot of people have in their cars like I do.

Are you the only one? No... but you, me, and other drivers who do are apparently a small minority. You can tell when traffic does its slinky job... and tons of constantly sudden brake lights.

I'm watching how the "snake" of traffic is moving and often I don't need to brake at all because I'm anticipating the flow.

My guess is it was around a curve and they were all likely above the limit. The semi must have been stopped or going slow. I think they are getting at the fact that if the kid in the truck had been paying attention, the accident may have been avoided or not been as bad at least. The severity of the accident may have been worsened by TXTing.

My summation of the story: Kid is texting while driving, "He had an average of about five and a half hours of sleep a night in the days leading up to the accident and had had fewer than five hours of sleep the night before the accident..." (Note: This quote is near the bottom of the story, in between the agenda being ejaculated all over the page)

A bus driver who was not paying attention (probably drunk/masturbating) killed the driver of the truck, who had just rear-ended a trailer-less semi due to fatigue and not paying attention to the road, and a passenger in his/her own bus as well as injuring several other students on the two buses involved in the accident.

No charges have been made against the school bus driver.

Disclaimer: My opinion.

Yea they won't do this..... they'll be retarded to. The problem isn't bad equipment, the problem is STUPID ****ING PEOPLE!!!!!!!! Stop trying to dumb down america by blaming it on the gadgets that you solely designed, instead edumacate your damn people.

If I ever text in the car, it's most likely with swype since i can just move my finger and keep my eyes on the road. Now if I even DO text, its short messages or something that is urgent. I also don't text around crowded areas, keeping in mind of a buffer zone just in case I need to react to something else. Other than that, eh it can wait. I see stupid ppl react very violently on the roads within a split second, so **** can hit the fan at any time..........

I'd say the vast majority of problems can be traced down to stupid f***ing people.

Wow.. that is bad.. As others have said, how does him texting cause the buses to rear end him? The buses should have had a high enough line of vision to tell that there was a semi coming in and fast.. The second bus, I understand.. but the first I don't really quite get.
