that's called a brake shoe in correct terms. So what is a better alternative to slowing down in this circumstance? if you can't give me a better alternative dont tell me i'm a dumbass.

But where is that part? Is it on the inside of the drum shaped part of the disc? I've never seen somthing like that before, course the only other car i've ever had with rear discs was a 510 with the conversion, and it had no e-brake.

damn dude, you're really witty.
its on the inside of the rear rotor set up.. the only way you can see it is if you pull off the rear rotor.. in some older bmw's the pad was known to heat up easily and break.. i haven’t heard that happening much with our cars but that’s not saying it cant either...

and again sorry

edgar,

okay so brake shoes do exists and this is the first time i have seen this, you are right. So i apologize and there you have it. But say i was to just use the ebrake to slow down which others have also stated that they use the same method; with what u have said in the beginning of the thread where these might have the chance of heating up and and breaking, i still do not see anything wrong with using the ebrake. Prove me wrong again, at least i can learn something. The only bad side i see in using the ebrake is you MIGHT lose it in the back, but as you can see, we're only talking about going from 80-65, and i'm not the only one that uses this method.

alternative to slowing down?

id just downshift, or hit the brakes

if hes not pacing me then he probably hasn’t radar’d me yet or paced me.. so he cant prove anything... and if hes done those two already just put your blinker on and start merging right cause your done!

edgar,
oh and if you have a aftermarket exhaust and you downshift .. guess what your cars RAAAR!! is going to catch his attention and you might as well start merging right also as hes going to give you a nice exhaust ticket...

basicly if your speeding prepare to get "insert 4 letter word"

But with hitting the brakes is because people worry with brake lights going on. And some aren't that confident with downshifting
