Yeah, you're right, yanking the ebrake on the freeway is a brilliant idea - especially if someone is behind you doing the same speed! No brake lights + quick slow down + trailing car = super safe...

If anyone got the idea that i meant "yank" on the ebrake, i'm sorry i wasn't that clear on it. What i meant by my first response of "ebrake ebrake" was just to use the ebrake since he seemed unsure of the downshifting method. Also i do realize that if one was to really yank on the ebrake going at highway speeds no matter at 65 mph or 95 mph there is a possibility where the car can lose it and you go crazy, and i would hope no one would do that. A lot of times when you are speeding, say 75, and the flow of traffic is going 65, of course that makes you the noticable one to the chp. That is what catches their attention IMO.

It seems that alot of people dislike my idea of ebraking with some sort of common sense. However if you think about it, someone mentioned the brakelight d/c method so you can still use regular brakes except the lights do not turn on. So if that was the case, what AWD 20t said in the previous post applies to both methods, and not just mines.

I have a method that will guarantee you will never get a speeding ticket again! All you have to do is... NOT SPEED...

edgar,
hey edgar, can u please show me the part number for this "ebrake" pad that you speak of.

And by the way, although i dont know much about cars i believe that impreza wrx uses a rear disc brake and not a drum. I have tried searching and if you would be nice enough to help me pinpoint exactly which part # is the "ebrake" pad.

Actually edgar, i did search for it, and came up with no such thing as an ebrake pad. So therefore i call you out to prove what u said is true. If in fact it is a part on the car, why is it that i am not able to look up the part via www.subaruparts.com? Of course i'm not hoping that what u said about the ebrake pad is false, because if so, what you just did was make an *** out of yourself.

Oh by the way if you have looked recently, the rear brake assembly is a disc brake and not a drum brake. Go out and take a look at the car if you are having doubts. :P

And i was thinking maybe the almighty edgar was right and www.subaruparts.com was lying to me trying to sell me disc brakes that i can't use on the car.

Seems like this backfired on you and you have no one else to blame but yourself because it was YOU that started with the bull**** comments geared towards me.

 for me.

oh yea here's a visual
