If you are so concerned about the humane treatment of these feral cats, then why have you still not posted the "right (and humane) way" of getting rid of them?
and btw, I wasn't serious about using bear mace nor did I think she would drill holes in her bumper to mount pigeon spikes.

It is legal to trap pets on your property and turn them over to the local pound, even if they belong to your next-door neighbor. My city provides traps.
Also: meat soaked in coolant.

yeah I am not down with the anti-freeze solution, I almost lost one of my cats to someone trying to poison him with that.
I don't really care at this point, so anyone else trying to make a funny with that as the solution earns an instant ban.

Wow I forget about i-club for a day and the thread went crazay!!!
So I have a can of repellant that seems to be working [though we will see for how long]...since they were too cunning to be trapped last night. There were no new paw prints/scratches on the truck this morning so I am hoping that the repellent will work on a steady basis. You have to spray the area every 24 hours for optimal results so we shall see. The lady at the pet store said that A LOT of people come in to buy repellant because the neighbors cats are sleeping on/hurting their vehicles, so that made me feel a bit better. I am not the only one
Like I have said before, I am not really keen on purposely doing severe harm, I am just tired of this happening and the so called "owner" not taking responsibility. I get screamed at for my dog [a 20# terrier as apposed to the mentioned pit-bull, which could be fun] chasing cats off of my front porch but its okay for his cats [which it is illegal to feed feral animals in California I learned] to scatch the hell out of my truck. Not gonna happen anymore.
I like the sprinkler idea, but the water where I live is really hard and the water spots are a biatch to get off, especially on the dark paint, so I am going to hold off on that for now.
So I think I may keep setting up the trap with the hopes of catching them so I can take them to the pound...that seems to be the kindest, most legal route. I just hope I dont fail horribly at this trapping thing.
"You dont even know what it means to be a trapper..."
I can't get a car cover to fit right and not scratch the truck itself. My truck spends a lot of time filthy and muddy so a cover isnt really practical.
And yes I am an animal lover...to a point. I love my truck more than I love my neighbors cats...so yeah...
And hey leave my recent string of horrible luck alone!
My poor truck, I feel like I beat the hell out of it...

From the information I was given by an animal control officer and a pest control worker, there are two codes, one in Health and Safety and one in the Fish and Game codes, that forbid a person from feeding feral animals in California, especially in residental areas. You cannot feed feral cats without some sort of special permit, I forget the name.
That is the information I am going on, so if I am wrong, or was misinformed someone please tell me.
