Help on Hub Centric Rings

Got some Rota Torques.

Pretty sure I need hubrings, but what size?

The subaru wheel bore is 56.1mm

What is Rota's?

It is a 17x7.5 5x100 if that helps at all.

Found this on Wheeldude:

http://www.wheeldude.com/catalog/pro...roducts_id=295

But which size do I get?

Thanks in Advance

'04 STI wheels, 5x100.
'05 STi wheels, 5x114.

So they fit on your wrx cause the wrx has 5x100 pattern.

yeeup exactly what slugrx is talking about.

nobody knows anything D: Can any of the vendors help me out?

Slugrx: if you don't have any hubcentric rims, you may get vibrations at high speeds because your wheels aren't 100% aligned. atleast that's what ive learned from all the research i've been doing.

AFAIK, since these are both Subaru wheels, you wouldn't need it.

Subaru wheel bores are 56.1mm? i believe this is what the "wheel centric hub rings" would address, but since your hub is 56.1 and the wheels are 56.1, there's no point.

only if you bought mazda or honda bore wheels (think those are at like 65 - 72mm bores), then you need the hub-centering ring...cause then you have a "loose wheel" on a small chingada...err bore point on your subie.

now, if you're talking bolt pattern, that's different and the answer is above. all wrx is 5x100 bolt pattern, and the 04 STi BBS are also 5x100.

They're not required for aftermarket wheels, although they do put a little more stress on the lugs. However, if the hub bores on the WRX and STi are the same, you don't need them (well, you can't even put them on).

As Cheston said, I think the 2004 STi BBS wheels have the same bore size as any year WRX, 56.1mm. Hence you don't need the rings. Not sure about the 2005 STI BBS bore size, but it doesn't matter because of the bolt pattern.

FWIW:

Notice it says WRX Sedan, but when you click on a wheel, it says STi 04.

The subaru bore is 56.1mm. All Subaru wheels should already have a 56.1mm bore so you don't need anything. Just mount up and go.

If you, hypothetically, you had wheels that were a larger bore than the subaru, you could just buy a hub ring to put in. Wheel dude sells em for pretty cheap I believe.

you need 73mm x 56.1mm for Rota's on a Subaru

even says it on WD.com site:

Product Details:
Hub centric rings let you put a larger hub bore wheel onto your car without vibration. These seat the wheel onto the hub perfectly. This is done to insure that the outer beads of the wheel are concentric with the wheel bearings. The result is a much truer, better balanced tire/wheel assembly.
Includes: Set of 4 Hub Rings.

Subaru (all models) - 56.1

Lancer Evolution - 67.1

Mazda 3 - 67.1

Nissan 350Z - 66.1

2006+ Civic Si - 64.1

Acura RSX - 64.1

Audi - 57.1

*we also carry these in stock
