Wouldn't be totally unsurprised if they were... so many people out there pull these stints to get attention. These owners seem genuinely worried though... I guess I buy it because a family friend of mine has a pair of these Rikkuma's with his wife. The family friend is a commercial pilot, and he travels the world with the bears and makes photo albums of their travels on his Facebook. They're like mini-representations of him and his wife; since he has to travel so much its kinda like taking her with him
