My car shudders too. Mainly standing still. I think it is because my FSB is right up against the headers. Yeah...

Too hard to diagnose over the internet. I'm truly sorry that there isn't anything else I can do at this time.

Grrr... I hate letting people down.

Yeah, same here. It always seems to be left turns. I don't think I've ever noticed it on right turns.

In normal driving, or if I pull into the spot quicker, I don't feel it. I also had the same stutter when turning the wheel once and not moving at all. I talked to the dealer and they told me it's normal... something about the diff during tight turns. It sounds like metal chattering.

I have almost 8k miles.
Sorry for being really vague on the first post. Anyways, I am experiencing the same symptoms as above. The sound is similar with a slight squeak (like rubber-on-rubber) that comes and goes. As stated, this happens during "U-ies" and turning into tight parking spaces. The shudder is mostly felt upfront especially on the steering wheel.

The car is an '01 L 4EAT with approx. 74K. Tranny and front diff fluids were flushed and refilled, I even replaced the filter.

Thanks again for the numerous input, more are welcome. I'll have a shop take a look at it soon.

I guess it could be that too. I dunno. It doesn't really bother me that much.

yeah i notice it a lot more when the cars been sitting and is cold. It did it to me this morning early when i was trying to turn left into a parking space from a dead stop. its weird because its always on tight lefts and barely noticeable on rights...i did a tight u turn in a parking lot to see if i could get it to do it.....it did it...but its hardly noticeable.

hmm ive driven a few 06/07 wrxs, and i noticed they steering is alot lighter than my 02.. do they have electrically assisted power steering or something of that nature? not sure if that has anything to do with a shudder feeling.. if they do have electrically assisted power steering and that motor went out, the steering would just feel a bit heavier...of course im just speculating also

same for me...as I said up above. Sounds like what mine did...new pump fixed it.

our pumps suck. They wear out and they're easy to blow up. MUCH MUCH better than those on FORDS though..haa.

I know they don't like going to full lock. So if you like to do donuts....don't lock it out for very long or it'll go boom......I heard this from someone...

Most likely it's the Power steering. My friend's WRX has the same problem.

I think the steering ratio is higher on the 06/07... that's why it feels lighter.
i wonder if i should just take my car in to get a new steering pump now... :/
