HALP! All Terrain tire for 91 pickup truck
Sorry, I know this isn't the right forum but hopefully some truck owners can chime in. My dad gave me his old 91 Chevy Z71 offroad truck and today on the freeway the back tire peeled off like an orange!
Harrowing experience at 65mph but I managed to hobble it to Americas Tire where they put on a used band aid tire (they had nothing my size in stock). Also, they couldn't get the spare off because there was a bike lock on it (wtf?) not to mention they refused to put it on because it was 20 years old
Size is 31/1050/15. Been looking at the Bridgestone Dualer AT. Need a tire that is good on ice, snow and the highway (Tahoe, camping trips, etc).
Thanks!

Good year Duratrack tires are awesome, I have a few buddies that have them on their trucks and they handle awesome in the heavy snow and Ice, They look aggressive but are very quiet on the highway.
They will be my next tire on my truck, Id get them before this season but I don't feel like shelling out $1500 for some new 35's since I plan on changing to 20's soon.
On my truck now are BFG KO's awesome tire In the snow and Ice and have handled very well to my abuse and power my truck makes haha

I have ProComp's on my truck. They have a 40k warrenty. I am well past that and they still look new. I am amazed at the lack of wear. I also go off roading, trailer pulling and commute. They are E rated and I keep them at 65psi, align and rotate 10k miles.
They are also very quiet down the road.

Went with the BFG KO, it was the only tire in my price range with the severe weather rating. Duratrack and Procomps were severe rated too and looked awesome but kinda pricey and too much tire for what I do with the truck.
The Dueler Revo 2 tread looks like it would do the best on ice but it doesn't have the severe weather rating so I passed. Don't need any problems going through Tahoe checkpoints (not dealing with chains). Plus, I'd imagine any A/T tire and 4 wheel drive will survive on ice as long as you're carefull.
Thanks!

Good choice on tires, just keep them aired up correctly and rotate every 6-8k miles they should last a long time. I have 20k miles on mine and they still look new, lol you think 1000+ tq would shread them in a week haha
