Greatest driving/racing video games?
I'm a big game nut allthough i don't have the cash to go out and buy a game every time a new driving one comes out. I have two different systems 1) the Nintendo 64 which i never use any more and 2) the PS2. For Nintendo i've got the Monaco F1 game which kicks ***. The tracks are fairly accurate and the drive control is good. You can switch from arcade over to realistic (where you lose control very easlily).
But it's the PS2 that i play now
1) Gran Turismo 3 (greatest racer ever!!!!)
2) Formula One 2001 (Not bad)
3) World Rally Championship (fun but control too easy. hard to lose)
4) Midnight Club II (good game but very angering)
and not quite a racer but fun to drive 5) grand theft auto :Vice City (especially after putting in the race car cheats R1, O, R2, right, L1, L2, X, X, sqare, R1 at car kicks butt. There is another racer in there but not as good
If you have any other you all know about please list. I don't rent from a place that carries much in racing games
rich

I dunno if they make this game for the PS2....
I have an XBOX and Ralli sport Challenge, is off the heazy fo sheezy....that game is very realistic in the way the cars handle and the accuracy of the tracks, but as far as damage to the cars goes....its not super accurate...but thats ok...its the driving you want realistic anyways.

Colin Mcrae Rally was pretty impressive minus the fact you're restricted to a frickin Ford Focus for the entire game. The scenery and damage engine were pretty top notch. The next release in this franchise is in October and you can pick any team to race for. I've also heard that the graphics are on par with GT4. Can't wait!

Actually Toyko Extreme Racer Zero is a pretty fun game. Hard at first if you buy the wrong car. But if you buy the right car you can get pretty far with it. Plus I believe it is now considered Greatest Hits for the PS2 so it's cheaper. I enjoy playing the game even though the driving is not that realistic, the cars look badass when you change the front end and hood, and side skirts and everything else.

Although GT3 is my favorite to date i have one major problem with it. The no damage factor. I've never played it online but i would hate to think about gettin my *** kicked by some little punk who just threw they car into the walls for cornering. Because if you do it just right your lap times are sooo much quicker then accually breaking / downshifting for a turn. I want that quality of game plus all the damage. Never played Project Gotham Racing. please give more details.....scoobiesnacks or anyone else that knows it
