and to clarify, the car had a nice hard day at the track with no issues whatsoever. Like I said earlier, mike tuned it exactly the way i wanted it =)

how bad was your pinging with the stock ECU on 91?

Your car is making great numbers, good to hear it's not pinging. Check this out, here's some dyno charts of a stock WRX (not Sti) with Samco hoses and ECU reflash, notice the top end power is real choppy, I think the engine rumbles around so much it can't properly manage the fuel.

And here's the same rex with 3rd cat eliminator pipe + full catback, K&N filter and the same Samco hoses a few months later. The car pulls real well and it aint mine if anyone asks hehe Notice the top end is still choppy, apparently it's best just to shift before you get to that point as the car doesn't know what it's doing anyways and you'll get better acceleration by just shifting into the next gear.

I was told the car didn't ping at all when it was first dyno tuned, so that's good. But I hear the Sti pings due to the turbo configuration and fuel issues. I'm sure there are posts about it somewhere on these boards. Good luck with the car

Sorry no jacking intended I was just wanted to answer all the IM's being sent between certain people regarding the tune on Reid's cars as I didn't want other peoples unawareness to the particulars of the tune to snow ball into anyones hidden agenda and anymore drama on these boards.

oh and that dyno pull would never have been possible if it weren't for the fact that Mike practically lives there!

oh and Akira nice dyno figures with all that stress the motor was under with no fans and all!

good luck with that on the track.

oh yeah, and my car used to ping a good amount on 91 with the stock ECU, in warmer temps.

Also, on my new tune I hit a maximum of 14.3lbs of boost.
