I'm currently using Amsoil Euro 5w40 and will be using Motul X-Cess 5w40 next, then Redline 5w-40 and finally Rotella T6.

How much oil did you have to provide as sample?

Why would you use so many different oils? If your going for the cheaper go with Rotella T6, if want the bomb try Motul 300v. No point in using any other oil, Rotella T6 seems to be what a lot of Subaru drivers use in there motors. Motul 300v is amazing, problem is its double the price of Rotella T6.

I think he's trying to get oil analysis for each oil type to see which is the best

I'm getting tests done on all of them to see which one gets the best UOA.

Those UOA seem like a waist of money, changing your oil out with different oils every time won't give you the best results. I would run each oil 2 times, having run each oil once is not going to prove what oil is better. Going to take you a year to figure out the results on 4 different oils. I would run Rottela T6 or Motul 300v and see what one is the better. I don't think you can beat the price of Rotella T6, Motul 300v is double the price.

While a bigger sample size is key, have you ever seen any UOA's for either oil in our cars? I think he's doing a good thing which may benefit us all. Also, learn to spell before you give people advice on finding empirical data.

I'm curious to see the results of each oil and see what you finally end up deciding to run in the long run.

BTW - Glad to see they recommend the 5,000 mile mark for the oil change as that's typically when I try to do the oil changes on my car is around that mark.

Take my results with a grain of salt though. What's good for one engine isn't exactly the best for another.

AHQ uses Euro Amsoil 5w40 and I want to get my hands on some Total Oil. I've heard it's pretty good also.

Lol, one word misspelled wow. Don't come in here trying to talk smack because you know where that will go with me. You want to talk crap send me a PM, other then that you should keep your smart *** remarks to yourself. And yes i have seen samples of those oils with UOA samples. Its hard to judge how well each oil does if only used one time, you can't repeat the same driving conditions each time so most say to use it several times then change. You should look on IWSTI and they have many people showing results on different oils.

I know, what works well for one car & that driver's driving style may not be the same for another.

That being said, it was more a comment since I run the German Castrol in my car that seeing recommendations for longer run times is a good thing. It means that it is holding up well to the abuse that is currently being put on it. Since it looks like you do a lot of stop and go traffic (potentially more City Driving vs Freeway Driving). If they said to run it for 10-15K+ though I would still most likely want to switch at the 5K mark anyways.
