Thumbs up Got my car detailed

I've been wondering where to go in S.F. to get my car done and have found the place. These guys do really good work, my car is so nice looking now I don't want to sell it...

if I had taken before pics it would make more sense... it's also a feel thing, all of the industrial fallout is gone, the hood scoop, mirrors and wing look great (they were starting to look like a different color to me)... I'll try to post pictures... they cleaned my engine too

I paid $200. They use aircraft wax, but the wax job I got is the one for presale, if you're waxing your car they do something crazy like three coats. I was looking at the cars in there and they were really nicely done...

The little/fine scratches are gone
no swirl marks
engine steam cleaned
carpets shampooed
windows done
wheels polished
all black plastic freshened up

basically the car looks and feels great

Most places up here wanted over $100 to do the engine alone... I got a crappy wax job for $60 in Noe Valley so I feel that this was well worth it. Now that it's so shiny and smooth I found a little quarter size ding on the hood. Which is why I've started another Dent Day thread for the 10th...

also, the bumpers were pretty scratched up from inconsiderate *******s so I recently got those redone and there was overspray all over the car and windows... it's gone now!

It's amazing what a good machine was can do. I used to do my own detailing but have gotten far too lazy, my poor porter cable and my machine wax collection are collecting dust. People always tout hand waxes, but in the hands of someone who knows what they're doing, nothing tops a machine. With the silver wagon you don't get much satisaction after a good wax session so I don't do it any more, but when I had my black v6 accord, I couldn't stop grinning after I hit it with the orbital. Down here in San Jo the best detailing place I've found is AJ Detailing on Coleman, the place doesn't look like much, but look how many cars are always there. I had my accord done twice there, and so far the wagon once and they are fantastic, far more attention to detail than my lazy ****.

The prices on their list seem a bit steep, but the work they do is worth it, and if you catch them on a slow day you can get good deals. It's $250 for a complete detail, and $50 to add a motor steam cleaning(I usually got complete detail, with motor and undercarriage steam cleaning for $300). Every time I've gone there they were even nice enough to give me a loaner bucket for the day.
