Question Good Tire Installer in San Francisco/Oakland/Berkeley?

So yeah, I realized I've never had tires installed in the Bay Area, so I have no idea where to go.

Does anyone know of a good tire shop that will install the Pirellis I got from TireRack on my P7's?

The most important thing to me is that they have the special rim machine that doesn't gouge your wheels.

And I'd like the place to be in SF, Oakland or Berkeley (or nearby)

Thx

Go to Auto Innovations in Milpitas. They are friendly, do great work, and I reccomend them highly. They will also give you the SubyDude discount.

I've had both Auto Options and Griffin Motorworks mount tires for me, both are on the east side of San Pablo in Berkeley between Cedar and Gilman

I know, this is a negative response, but let me save you the trouble... DO NOT GO TO WHEELWORKS or TIRES PLUS.

Multiple bad experiences for me...

I paid $20 to dismount my tires @ americas tire co

When I asked him how much it will be to remount them when I get my new wheels he said it will be $20 again.

To get em balanced was $15 each (I wont have to pay this b/c I got the tires from them) so thats $60.

So total will be $80 over there.

Ok, I called Auto Innovations..

$88 and they're a Prodrive dealer so they won't screw up my rims.

It's worth the drive to Milpitas for that!

I was at the auto show where they had a lil booth, and asked them how much a hks bov kit would cost for the wrx. They said $340 or so. I was like, wtf I could get that at mpj for $100 less. The guy replies and say's "well, they must be an online dealer or something. I don't see how they could get it for so low"

In my mind I was like "Damn dood, u don't know your competition foo"

then for kicks, I asked them how much for installation for a stoptech big brake kit. "$350 for installation"

I then said "wtf, I could get that installed at mpj for $130 or so"

The guy then ignored me so I walked away

Thanks Mpj for giving us cheapos good deals!

Damn, must be a pretty reputable place if they've been in business since the 50's.
