Ha well my tires rarely last a whole year, and I've got two sets of wheels so I rotate sets and spray one set while the other is on my car and on it goes...plus I can change colors anytime I want a lot easier too, and not have to worry about the effects of powdercoating wheels too many times
Papabear on here sands and paints wheels any color you like with high grade auto paint because he works at a body shop...$200 or so iirc...I was gonna go with him but I've been too busy to follow through

Highly doubt I'd be wanting to change the color after having them powder coated.

I was reading up on the issues with powder coating and it said the main problem is the bake temp. I found that you can ask them first if they use low temp or high temp bake, because low temp (250deg) will not cause brittleness.
I didn't know to ask that previously, but the guy that did them for me does a LOT of rims. I also read a post from a guy who races Porsches and he said he's been racing powder coated rims for years without issue. The potential is there though.
I just had mine done a few months ago and I am very pleased and chipping was the main reason I went with P/C vs paint.
Cost me a bit more because I had them bead blasted first, but the end result is pretty good IMO.

Just on Spray Technology's site and they are having a special till the end of Sept. $299+tax to get a set of wheels powder coated. Only catch is that you can only choose between black or white.

If that includes the bead blast, that's what he charged me. He specializes in custom hot rods, but does a lot of different stuff for the various high tech industries and is a nice guy.

I took in my set of 18x7.5 Rota Battles in and I was quoted $620. The wheels are in terrible shape, they are bent, scrapped, curbed, and generally FUBAR. I am 90% sure that they came off a totaled car that rolled or something, but I love the wheels. I haven't had the work done yet but I hope to have them done soon.
