for coilovers around 1000 there you have choices of bc, megan, stance. even then everyone will have their opinions the real thing you should decide on is spring rate.
You can probably ask either manufactures to put in lower spring rates i would say about 7k-5k front or rear would be suffice and you would enjoy less body roll as well as good kidneys =D

I've done a lot of coilover research and I'm sorry to report the answer is not what you want to hear. No Japanese/Taiwanese set of coilovers (for $1,000) will be 'good' for SF streets. The valving is not paired for our surface conditions.

Save some $$ and get yourself some KW's, RCEs, TiC's or if you're baller, some Ohlins. Those are more Euro in their valving and give a much nicer ride on US streets.

i've driven the stance on sf streets and i'd say park your car and walk. it hurts. bad.

RCE T2 are suprisingly comfy with high springrates if you turn the dampening down.

you want a decent ride, dont drop below KW V3.

you want ultimate street/track setup Ohlins

Stance GRs... No way! I can feel EVERYTHING. Stance just released their LX model with is supposed to be a much smoother ride.

I'd do what Noah said and go with KW Variant 3's. Feel free to see my coilover spectrum. I have a table of notes I took while looking for a coilover set-up. Search "DarkOnion Coilover Spectrum"
