Gnarly Santa Cruz Fire...

winds have died down so they're making progress while yesterday it was futile. i think 20% containment as of this morning.
i'm at work in foster city, and i can barely make out the belmont hills. walking/breathing outside stinks, and i'm about 50 miles away. can't imagine what its like around watsonville. best wishes everyone down there.

fire career is like the best thing that can happen to you if youre really into it. i have so much damn passion about it its gross. my brother is supporting me super much, hes a cop and on swat and is now a detective for alameda county and also had a 05 aspen white sti.
but anyways. i suggest you go to a local station or something and interview a ff and get a better idea of what you're going to be doing. 70% if not more of the call volume is medical. my parents hate the idea and want me to just be a paramedic. **** that. i want to put out fires and get my custom firefighter license plate haha.
