There are enough WRX's in Sac to not be a problem in this reguard. Most are driven by normal people, so your average nutty riceboy wont be messing with you (and from what ive heard, they dont mess with WRX's anyway cause they know they get owned... instead, expect more muscle cars and lux brands to try to mess with you)

I hear you man. Most of my friends think my car ugly . And yes, attention is bad.

I've had my car for about 1/2 a year, and i've never been revved on nor has anyone ever gunned it next to me either (except for a really old van... which i had no freaking clue what they were trying to do). Then again, my car has no exterior mods at this moment, except a 3" MRT turbo back, so it looks basically stock.

It's been my experience that an RS gets revved on just as much as a WRX.

I've had my wrx for 3 years and I've been revved on twice. Plus, if you are going not to buy the car you want based on what others do, then maybe the problem is...

just don't drive down sunrise on friday or saturday after dark. i don't get a lot of people trying to race. usually when someone revs, i rev back (my car almost always sounds meaner) and then just go about my business.

I've only been reved on once here in Santa Cruz, and it was so stupid that it was actually funny:

It was about 10 pm, steady rain, and heavy traffic on Water St.

Some teen-ager with a tenuous self-image pulls up next to me in his daddy's Lexus and revs like it's race time...

Thing is we're BOTH sitting in traffic, at least four cars back from the light... Not that I would have raced him anyway, but HOW could we POSSIBLY race there?

(Fastest 0-5mph time wins, perhaps?)

I just laughed at him and shook my head.

More horsepower than brains (and not all that much horsepower)

Max seems to encounter a lot of races here in Petaluma, but I have raced my car all of once. If you don't want to race, then just ignore them.

The one thing that has truly shocked me during my very few months of looking into a suby is the drivers. Despite that the WRX's and up (yes RS's too) were pretty much designed for racing purposes, all (or most) of the owners know that it belongs on the track, not on the street.

Two thumbs up to ya'll for being smart!

So for the WRX owners here, are most of you taking it to the track, or just using the extra hp when you need it in daily driving? Just curious -and- keep talking about your punk rice encounters.

I haven't gotten revved on when my car was stock. I add a greddy evo catback and still no revs. But I did get an occasional honduh ricer do the fly by or lunge forward, slow down thing once every 3 weeks. I trade the Greddy for the Hks and now I get the occasional honduh ricer do the lunge forward, slow down thing trying to get me to race about once every week. I also get average, every day drivers tailgating me more often. Must be teh bling factor of the hks heh heh

But if you're stock, you won't get bothered that much. There are a lot of old ladies and old men who drive wrx's as well.
