Getting Borla Hush to flow better. . . ?

Hey guys, I have a borla hush on my 03 wrx.

I want to remove the baffle to get it to straight pipe

I want to get the flange welded in so it is a true 3'' all the way.

Who has done this ? Flow tests ? Where to get it done ? If you can give me a price and where to go. Thanks

MPJ just came out with a 3'' adapter piece. Give them a call, I don't think it was too much like 20 or 30 bucks cant remember off the top of my head.

Now that I have the adapter taken care of. . .

From what I remember MPJ will get you the adpapter and weld it for you for like $50 or $60. Shoot them a PM, I'm sure they would be more than happy to help.

What baffle? The resonator in the midpipe? or the muffler itself?

The end of the midpipe to the downpipe is only 2.5''... the adapter or baffle makes it 3''

Car Info: I got a couple :)
if you want the hush system to be resonator "less", I can cut and weld a straight pipe (3") and keep the resonator in exchange for the parts.

Labor will be $40 to cut and weld as a package only .

let me know

Gino

Sweet, what about the midpipe-catback transition. . . can you cut and weld on the 3" adapter, cause I am putting on a catless helix next week

Thanks

Hey guys,

Just an update on my exhaust, I went to see Gino at GB, even though the didn't have the pipe in stock the adapter that gino welded for me is awesome.

The welds are the better that I have ever seen, I would suggest this "mod" to any borla owner. Now once Gino gets 17 inches of stainless steel then I get my resonator cut out. Cheers guys

Wouldn't this eliminate the "hush factor" of the muffler?

It's kind of like the Perrin Stealth Back... the only thing stealth about it is that it's twin tips.

Actually, I drove my friends yellow WRX with borla hush and he got it from MPJ with the 3" adapter weld. It's not that loud actually. It's much quieter than a lot of exhausts, so it's still hush .

Gino - how much to weld a flange onto a midpipe that broke off ? also do you have spring bolts? i was told they are supposed to be on the stock midpipe connecting to the downpipe.

However, after you guys installed the helix up/dp combo, it didn't have any spring bolts...

thx

sweet sounds like a plan, anything to keep a catless car quiet is a good thing

cutting the resenator will make the "hush" go away cus you'll be left with just a muffler, it will be at least 2.3411 x louder
