Freon/AC question
if i got a new HVAC put in my car and its empty (im getting it charged tomorrow...any recomendations?)...is it possible that the HVAC is eating up all my coolant? my floor is dry and it seems like i have to refil the coolant every 4 days. when i warm the car up initially...i smell a hint of the coolant.
thanks in advance

well you do have a COOLING system leak somewhere.
i would start with that first before doing the AC. after all, the AC is a convenient item where as the coolant is a needed thing...
before driving off for work each morning, check for drops on ground and start the diagnosing there.

then coolant leak is somewhere else...
or i dont know about the EJ design, but on my toyota truck v6, which was infamous for it's head gasket failures, the coolant would get sucked into the cylinders and then end up blowing white smoke through the tailpipe.
once, i was driving up a hill and someone honks next to me and yells "your headgasket is blown" and point to the tailpipe as a billows of white smoke blows out.
i checked the overflow coolant tank and it was bone dry.
later, when i filled the tank and the radiator, it took a lot of water.
sure enough the head gasket did blow...
