I guess I'm lucky to have an honest community around me that wouldn't steal mine, so I've never had to lock my iPhone. My previous phone, as I stated in another post before, acted as a paperweight when it was locked - no sending or receiving phone calls.

sigh...read all the post before you post....urghh how many times do i have to repeat???

i was thinking that the owner would call the phone right away so i could just give it back to her. i admit i did not think much, i just thought later when she calls i can be a good Samaritan and hand it back to her! but i guess that didn't happen

No, obviously you DON'T think much - about being honest, having integrity, or doing the right thing. Not much we can do about that but to make sure we all keep our eyes on you whenever you're around...

...wouldn't be surprised if you were at Hammy the year our chairs decided to go home with two different people for "safekeeping" rather than stay where they were while we went on a little drive. Those were taken by two non-Subaru community members also, and we had to pay a bunch of money to have them shipped back to us...so much for safekeeping.

LOL what are you talking about??? hahaha what does locking your phone has anything to do with your community now??? wth hahah

well i guess SHE is from some dishonest community right? why you telling me that??? hahah i didnt tell her to lock the phone.. come on. you going a little off topic here lol i really dont know why she locked her phone. if the phone wasn't locked she would got it back already because i would just called some number from her contact book. lol so is a good thing not to lock it =] in case if you ever lost your phone and i happen to found it, even if you don't call i still can find you! o NO, im not going to call you and let you know, i will hand it to the police, and have you fill out a report first, in order to get the phone back. just more hassle for you, so you will remember not to lose it again =] good idea huh!

I honestly don't believe that you'd have called anyone if the cell phone had been unlocked. I truly believe that you would have turned off the phone, removed the SIM, and after a week, you'd claim it as your own.

LOL you are just going way out of topic lol

which year hammy? 06 or 07. i was only there for 06. had a great time, but with like over 120 degree weather i remembered. 07 i couldn't make it, and 08 at the fremont park or something i had work, and 09 i would out of the country so didnt show up for that one also.

i drive an RX8 so im belong to a NON-subaru community??? haha come on hahah is that how you treat people? that is mess up. i love subaru. my next family car would be the new outback. i love subaru, and i worked at subaru =] customers loved me, i'm not a pushy salesman, that is also because i'm just a college student, i don't need to push hard to make TONs of money. i worked there simply because i love subaru. im on the rx8 forum, but i rarely even get on there at all, i still visit i-club more often than any other forums.

sir, that is what you believe =] and you are free to think that way. okay?

but i can simply put it on my heart and tell you, i have returned so many things to people before. i worked at tapx, ikea, dealerships. found so many phones. customer dropped their phone in the car, and i call them back. ikea people leave their phone in the kart, and i even reminded that lady to keep her cellphone on her and don't leave it unattended. when i could simply took it with out anyone even notice it. tapx is when i called the persons call list and have his friend to tell him and get the phone back. you don't have to believe any of these. because you choose what you believe. and im not going to keep on convincing you about what i really would do or not. you choose not to believe it is your business. just like what i do is my business.

i just want the mods to lock the thread, and give some proper warning to those people who violated the forum rules. VIP members should not be violating those rules after i told them not to calling names. lucky that person is not a mod, or that just abusing power.

man that's a lot of reading..

after reading everything i am a bit surprised about a lot that has been said. To the OP, i think just pming matt (04caliwrx) with the phone info or w/e he is looking for would end all of this drama. No need for you to drive to your nearest at&t store. You have members here who are willing to track her for you. At the least, do that just in case there was important info she may have needed. I know when I lost my phone, I looked for it like crazy and called for it, but I left my phone on silent since I was at school so I couldn't do much about it. I had to report it and within the next three days, got myself a new phone. It's not the fact that I wanted the phone itself, I just really wanted all the info/files/pictures I had saved on there. That's what mattered the most.

It's unfortunate that there's so many name callings being thrown back and forth. Two wrongs don't make a right you guys. I mean, I completely understand why you're being defensive OP, I wouldn't appreciate if someone brought my family into the discussion either. It's like saying, if you got a problem with me, then that's with me. There is no need to involve anyone else. Us human beings make our own choices and our own decisions, not our parents. How they raised us shouldn't matter either.. It's just not right to bring in people who aren't involved in this.. It could be a sensitive topic.. especially when some people aren't fortunate enough to have parents..

Wishing bad on another human being is also something I don't support. I'm not telling anyone that they are not entitled to believe what they want to believe or say what they want to say, I'm just saying that I don't think it's right for anyone to wish harm upon another human being. It's really sad that a topic about jailbreaking a lost iphone turned into something as serious as this.. I really hope nothing bad happens to the OP because wishing the OP got into an accident isn't something I'd want.. Accidents are serious and I wouldn't want to see another thread about someone getting hurt.. even if it means teaching them a lesson. Cuz I'm been in an accident.. and it really sucked. I do wish everyone the best in health..

Like I said before, just pm matt. He'll be more than happy to help you. He's really nice and he can read this thread to find out all the details haha. But then again, if you already wiped all the info out, I don't know if the phone is much use to her if she did get a new phone. mehh.. who knows.. Just send matt a pm.. End all this drama..

I'm sure the OP isn't a bad person like everyone is making him out to be. I don't believe there are bad people in this world, just people who make bad decisions. I am sure all of us, at one time or another, has made poor decisions.. But I'm also sure not all of us got bashed on the way the OP did either.. I honestly think the OP made the thread, not thinking he would get attacked on by everyone.. It's disappointing to see how everyone can just call one another names.. We're all grown up now.. maybe time we all act like it? We can only tell the OP our advice on what to do, that's his decision what he wants to do. Calling him names is not going to get us anywhere.. Same goes to you OP.. don't allow yourself to look like you're the bad person by saying things that are just as bad.. I understand wanting to defend yourself and setting things straight but this thing you an Roo has going is getting both of you nowhere.. Just walk away from this..

Just my .02 cents. Sorry for the long post.. I just felt very strongly about the whole name calling and bringing in family and.. well.. everything..

I've taken the time to walk half a mile down a busy road to pick up ID, credit cards, and CASH strewn on a busy street - all to return EVERYTHING to its rightful owner. I didn't find the license, so there was only a Costco card in his belongings - that and a bunch of credit cards. I called the local Costco, had them contact him with my number, and drove the wallet 20 miles to his house. It came to him with ALL the cash I could find/recover on the road, about $160 worth of cash - not bad since he told me he only had $170 in there...and had left the wallet on the roof of his car. He handed me $40 for my time, and thanked me profusely for returning everything to him.

I donated the money to charity.

When I worked in the hotel industry, I found purses, cell phones, wallets, all sorts of items - all have been returned to their owners intact. I've gone out of my way to make sure people get their belongings back, even driving 80 miles to return a very expensive briefcase to a customer who needed it for a presentation - because he'd forgotten it in his room when he checked out. I did it because it was the right thing to do. I got a company t-shirt from him - LOL - and still have that t-shirt somewhere around here almost 10 years later.

Why did I do it? Because it was the right thing to do.
