just bought a key off ebay now can anybody help me program the immobilizer code onto the key or will i have to end up paying the dealer the 72 dollars? either way it's still going to be cheaper than getting the key from the dealer as they were asking 78 dollar for the key 10 dollar to cut it and 72 dollars to program it.

the Subaru Select Monitor tool is the only way to program those keys... don't know which locksmiths can cut it; it's called a 'High Security Cut' (no 'laser cut' like many say) but at least in my area, only the dealer cuts them as well...

 

call hernandez locksmith. they've been able to program all sorts of keys for us for 40$. if not pay the dealer!

 

the one i have is the standard key, the laser cut didn't come out for my year until 2009 i believe.

i know there's no way to do it myself, just wondering if anybody works at subaru that would be able to do it for me cheaper than what the dealer would or I heard that some key making shops would be able to access the Immobilizer and program the code onto it. But most likely i would be going to the dealer to have it programed.
