Flying domestic. How early should I be at airport?
I haven't flown domestically in about a year. How early should I get to the airport so I will make my flight on time? Just wondering due to all the extra security. Thanks!
Oh yeah, I'm flying out of Oakland.

I have done some traveling - was advised to arrive 4 hours early for every flight!
Usually total time took less than 45 mins but at JFK it took about 5 hours (missed my flight) and at Atlanta once it took 4 hours (I gave myself 2 so I also missed this flight). I think it took 3+ hours in Phoenix, but the flight was cancelled so I didn't miss it.
Generally give yourself 2+ hours - if you can't afford to miss a flight then give yourself 4 hours, but 4 hours in an airport is REALLY boring.
