Here is the 100% works every time solution.

1)Pick up 2-3 cans of "carpet flee powered" this is basically boric acid (same stuff you washed your hands with back in school, the powder stuff). Sprinkle this into all your carpets, include under tables and the sofa. Work powder into sofa, pulling pads out, sprinkle around on chairs and other spots.
2)Leave in place for a full day, walk on it, wont hurt you.
3)vacuum up all powder, dead flees will come with it. The eggs will also be toast.
4)Once done with vacuum, set off enough flee bombs as per instructions.
5)Wash your dishes when you come back.

done, and enough of the boric acid will stick around under the pad/carpet to kill off anything that comes back. You can find the stuff in bulk 1 and 5 gallon containers if you look around.
