I see your 85 lumen T1 and raise you a 145 lumen Nitecore D10. It's smaller, runs off a common AA and beats my poor T1 into the ground. I will probably end up just giving my T1 away to my brother in-law.

Otherwise, hand-held... maybe the Wolf Eyes Boxer? http://www.pts-flashlights.com/produ...px?uid=1-17-74 But that is not going to get you the lumens you want.

That Stanley I posted earlier is a good compromise in size vs. those giant searchlight ones. Not as cool looking as a Polarion or a Wolf Eyes... but $70.

If I had thousands to spend on a flashlight it'd DEF be the Polarion L5 or whatever it's called! OMGz, that thing is the holy grail of light! 5,000 lumen!

Also, I have heard nothing but great things about wolf eyes, my friend Ryan swears by his. Why are they so inexpensive? Seems too good to be true, yeah?

Sounds great, but how much is it?

The T1 is great because it gives off the perfect amount of light for most every day things. 85 lumens is almost too bright for certain situations, like in middle of the night when your eyes aren't used to the light, it's a little too much, but perfect for other things. That's why I like it soo much. I have some other lights that are a little larger but give off 200+ lumen, but they are a little too bright for everyday use, and is why I choose the T1 over many of my other lights.

I probably have around 25 flashlights that Ive collected over the past 5 years. None of the crappy low end energizer 80's plastic flashlight that comes in cheap first aid kits, you know of the kind I speak of! The lowest end one I have I think is the T1.

Honestly though, in terms of vendors, I cannot give a high enough recommendation for 4sevens. The guy has incredible customer service. The 8% off doesn't hurt either.

It's ~$58 with the 8% off. It is ADJUSTABLE from 3-145 lumens and memorizes your last setting. I leave it on 3 lumens most of the time, but 145 is two clicks away. It is hard for me to recommend ANY other flashlight right now. This is by far my favorite light right now. It is SO solid. The switch is a piston that holds the battery. Feels way better than a traditional switch.

Seriously, I haven't touched any of my other flashlights since I got this one. I am serious about giving the T1 away.

The adjustment is like a dimmer switch. Just hold down the piston and it gets brighter, and brighter, and brighter.

Oh, the other cool thing is you can get a replacement piston that has a slot milled into it for a tritium vial. Easy to find in the drawer at night.

...and it runs off a damn AA!!!!!!111!!!!11!!!!eleventy!!!

4sevens is having a huge sale on the Q5 bin nitecore lights (not as bright, less efficient) - http://www.cpfmarketplace.com/mp/sho...d.php?t=201166

Any of them are awesome. This one is like $36 with the 30% off - http://www.4sevens.com/product_info....oducts_id=1710 and runs off of a cr123 lithium.

Target has a series of lights called Rock River that aren't bad. I really like the form factor on the 2C cell LED that they make. Much smaller than a 2C Maglite. Not too small that it will get lost. Built well. Cheap, easy to source batteries. I will be lending my parents mine for their upcoming vacation. c-cells last forever powering an LED. Supposed ~130 lumens. It's around $30, but if it's on sale, can be had for as low as $11.

You might want to consider something that takes lithium batteries even if it just double A's if it just going to be sitting. They won't self discharge so you won't be without light in an emergency. If you are going to be using it a lot, I would go with the Rock River 2C and check your batteries every once in a while.

My next light - http://www.malkoffdevices.com/shop/m...dcat-p-70.html

btw, if you are looking for a drop-in LED upgrade for a SureFire 6P, 6Z, C2, M2 or G2 or for a Maglite, this guy makes the best ones, hands down.
