You will not go wrong with 46/17 though.
Thanks both! Makes sense. I need to count teeth to see what I currently have (old Shimano Ultegra 5 bolt crank) but might be able to pick up a PAUL 48T royal flush crank so that's why I asked about the 48t. With all the city riding and such, I dunno. Have to count what I have, and see what my friend is running on his commuter (between the panhandle and caltrain SF area).

if you're looking for a shop, I stumbled upon a bunch of fixies and parts at the off ramp bike shop in mountain view on el camino. they had a few bikes for sale that had been build up in the shop (as in chosen part by part), you dont see that at other bike stores very often

Anyone looking to build their own single, check this out, awesome flipflop hub... If this were 120mm/36h I would not be sharing this info.

Someone pick it up!! I am getting the same high-flange hub in 120mm for my bike... Going ahead with the 48T as a friend has a pile of rear sprockets to mess with.

Anyway: PAUL Components High-Flange flip-flop rear hub, 130mm, 32 hole
