Fix it ticket question (2 tickets)

I got pulled over by a CHP for
1. not having my license plate in the front
2. having light window tint on the front windows

The bail is $209 but here's my question. I want to fix the license and get that signed off but I don't plan on taking off the window tint. I have called the Police station and they have no idea. If I get just one of the violations signed off will the bail go down or stay the same either way?

Please any help would be great.

You probably want to get bail bonds so you can get out of the slammer and fix your car. j/k

They had levels 1-4 (1 being the lightest) and I have 2 in the front and 4 in the rears.

You can't have any % of tint on the front windows, CA law! So I don't think there's not much you can do about that, unless, you do have some sort of medical condition that requires you to have tints. Other than that, no tints at all.

If the tint is really, really noticable, then you need to take it off. After you can go get a lighter one

I think i read somewhere that CA Law allows you to have 70% tint on the front windows, but if you are going to get 70, u might as well not get any tint at all.

O2c, If u can find a cool cop, you can get those violations signed off without correcting them. Usually the police at Bayview Police Station are pretty cool about stuff like that. The last time I had an exhaust ticket, I went into the station and they just signed it off without checking.

Red face You didn't read it here suggestion...

If you got a friend with the exact car (color~body style) hang your plates on his car and get 'er done. Worked for me for 5 years when I was still living in Cali. The cops look up see the car and the plates and sign it off and go back to what they were doing. Find one on duty, but NOT busy. They just want to get on their way!

I've had an officer come over and check the VIN before. IMO this is a pretty stupid way to turn this into a felony.

I remember when i got one of those. Just take off the front tint and put on your plate and go post up at a starbucks. When a cop pulls up or if there are already some there, ask them to sign off the ticket. Shouldnt take too long either, theres always chp at starbucks.

it would be cheeper to just take you tint off and re tint it, if you get them signed off they are 10 dollars each so 20 + 40 for tint (averaged out) 60 bucks is alot less thatn 209 bail, just fix them and go to a local station wherever you are and ask a poice officer politly to sigh it off their not that big of a deal

yeah that's what i was afraid of. I am probably just going to take the tint off (as much as I like it) and hang that license plate and go get them signed off. Oh well...thanks for the help

I'll admit to being pretty unconcerned about it ~ never said it was 'smart' but for at least 12-15 tint tickets it did the trick... not ONCE did I even have the CHP or City Kitty leave his place along side his car.

Oh, and if you think you will get a a felony bust for this, I would seek different 'legal counsel'. ;-)
