I would bypass the PPG box..to much $$$ and to many problems.

Stick with the STi 6speed, maybe even the 07 STi 6 speed.

Non-dogbox can be had for half the price of a 6-speed conversion with better gearing!

Have you heard of anyone else besides burnin4 with PPG problems?

It all depends on what you want to do with your build. If you just want a stock sti swap it would be much cheaper than a swap with port and polished heads, cams , pistons, billet crankshaft, you get the picture. The things you can do to your car are endless. You can spend 5k up to 20k on a build it all depends on what you want and the purpose of the car, track, street, ect.

As for me I just wanted a car with the potential of 400whp and still beeing able to drive as a daily driver. The cost for my swap was just over 7k

But you already had the supporting mods before the 7K. FMIC, Headers, TBE, etc, etc...

By the way, how's the car holding up Felipe?

ooops I forgot to mention all the other mods! my bad hahah

The car is running freeakin awsome! Thanks again for everything!
Oh yea I found this 05 Sti at a auction that I may ask my uncle to bid on next week the car is totally F#$K up but all I need is the tranny, drive Shafts and whatever I may need. I am thinking of buying it and striping what ever I can.

Good IDEA or what do you think! My Unle said he can get the car for as little as 500 to 2k depending on how many people bid on the car.

the sti 6-speed is the shining point of the sti (imo). I dont see why you would get any other box when you have that as an option

Well dealing with andrewtech in the past, I would tend to agree with their assesment... User abuse.

It's actually amazing how many problems out there are completely unrelated to build quality. Alot of ppl think they can just abuse their cars because they built an indestructible (insert part here).

Because the gearing sucks for drag racing and you have to shift an extra shift with anything more than stock power levels. GRanted the 07 ratios are a bit better but PPG FTMFW!!!!

Thats sounds about right, and many times it also sounds like a smoke screen..since its the AFTERMARKET you can always point the finger at somebody else no?

Thats why one has to pick a stand up shop or company to deal with it guess, if not then people are just best off leaving their cars stock?

Every part/car is different and that has to come into play when all things are said and done.
