I picked up a droid last week. I love how fast it is. It has a lot of cool apps and whatnot but to be honest I got bored of it after a few days and only use it for texting like I would any other phone.
The navigation/google maps is really really useful, especially when I am driving around the Dallas/Forth Worth metroplex and I have no idea where I'm going.
Most of the apps I downloaded the first few days I rarely use.
I did pay for the Beautiful widgets app but like most people I only use it for the big clock and weather home widget which really isn't that necessary.

I love my droid, I was usuing ustream today so I could watch the superbowl @ work.
Once they get flash it will be the ultimate phone.
I can already take pictures of my checks for my bank and they deposit into my account, just need the flash for the pr0n and I'm good.
The only improvement I really have for the phone is they could have gotten rid of the d-pad since the phone is touch screen and made the keys a little bigger, other than that no complaints.

I want an Android phone so badly I can taste it. I have a Samsung Glyde now and I want to ****ing break it. Worst phone I have ever had.
I am at an impasse...my contract was up on the 28th of January and I can either get $100 off a Droid/Eris right now...or wait until Verizon gets the Nexus One.
I really, really, really want the Nexus..but the wait is driving me up the bloody wall.

after 3 days of using the droid, here are some impressions:
Pros
1. It's super fast and makes web browsing convenient when you need info from the web.
2. Great apps that add to the functionality of the phone such as "Droid Light" which is a flashlight app that comes in handy. "App Killer" which shuts down apps that are running in the background, saving your battery. "Weather" app - best weather app i've used on any phone.
3. Easy to navigate through apps/call log
4. high resolution screen
5. touch pad is really accurate, i tried texting a message as fast as i could and i nearly made it through without an error.
Cons
1. Keypad isn't my favorite - the buttons are really close together and the top row is hard to access. i hardly use it.
2. Text messages, gmail acct, and work email acct are in different folders. i like how the blackberry lumped all of your messages in one.
3. Apparently your not supposed to do a few things such as: keep it charging overnight, keep wi-fi enabled, or keep blutooth enabled because it drains the battery or freezes the phone. The second day i had it, it froze up and i could not turn it on. So i went to verizon and they gave me this advice. It's already frozen up on me twice and i've had to take battery out to restart.
