it's this weekend! no schedule up on their site yet, but i heard rumors that like last year they aren't having the Clienti here. which means no FXX and F1 cars, but still 20+ F430 Challenges screaming up the hill is an awesome sight.
went two years ago and it was an awesome experience. i'm probably going 2 of the 3 days. still haven't decided which 2.

what lenses do you have? i don't have special privileges for this event, so all my photos were taken at spectator areas. IMO sears point is one of the better spectator friendly race track (only been to a few race tracks in my lifetime though). especially with a smaller event like this, you'll probably be free to venture to a lot of areas.

that's what i'm saying! plus there will be so little people there, you'll probably be able to jump in a F430 Challenge and take it for a spin...ok, probably not.
also from spying the Ford GT forums, it looks like a couple of them will be rolling out there on friday as well.

not really because i believe the 70-300 has f/stops of 4-5.6. with a teleconverter you'll lose 1 stop for 1.4x. that will make the lens quite dark. the thing with using a teleconverter is you want to start with a fast lens. 300 would be long enough for some parts of the track.
this is with a 300 on a Nikon dSLR body:

if i end up going on friday, you can give me a call when you're at the track. PM me for #.
