Fellow PS3 owners: Sony may stop second hand gaming!
#19
Rumor has it that all the new Next Gen consoles will not be able to play used games. Game console makers want to make more money from game makers so this will most likely happen whether we want it to or not. And it's not and XBOX vs PS3 war.

I know, I keep hearing about Xbox hopping on the same train. But i'm a total sucker and probably will just end up buying games that will end up sucking and keeping them forever (IE: RE6). But I may end up switching to Xbox anyway, like I stated earlier, I hate the fact that DLC comes out on XBL before PSN. I'm impatient! That and I heard that there's this series called "Halo" or something thats supposed to be pretty good.

Sony has been doing crap like this for years, trying to lock people into their ecosystem like apple. Anyone remember "Sony Memory stick?" Yeah, crap like that.
You know what you're getting when you choose a Sony product, and shouldn't be surprised.
None of this will really affect me though, as the last time I sold or traded a video game, I think it was a NES cartridge.

They make money on games sold the first time. Not the second time.
It's like apple trying to control music and adobe with their software. They don't want hard copies floating around.
They want everyone to have to download things and pay for them... no resale. No used stuff. But the problem is that it's shown to be damn near impossible to regulate.
It's a waste and it's just going to **** people off.
I wouldn't change platforms for this reason alone as everyone is trying to do it.
It's only a matter of time before EVERYTHING is download only.
Makes it friggin hard on game stop and record stores and what not. It's annoying and unnecessary.

So I can't bring my fighting game to my buddies house to play on his console? That is DUMB. I don't see this happening. If it did I would probably not buy the new console until it is cracked. Are they just pissed at gamestop for selling old games?

Lol just opens the market back up to start modding your consoles again. I remember back in the 90s when everyone and their mother was modding their playstation to play burnt japanese games. the guys that were doing it were making 60$ a pop and had customers lined up for months.
This is likely going to have the same effect. hack/mod = profit. kill one market only to open up another.

I know lots of computer programs require a key or something to run on ONE machine. This is different, I cant play it on two things at once but I should be able to loan it to a friend.
