Alright alright I took it wrong

But here you are just talkin the crazy talk: "...keep BAIC from becoming another OT..."

That's exactly what I'm saying...they just took all the ON-T threads and put them somewhere else:

-Local subaru events
-local meets
-installfests
-sales

So BAIC is now just another OT. No reason to read it unless I want to read about who's mom took a  in the poopah.
I have to agree there....if u don't want it to be an OT regional forum u can't have sub categories for on-topic stuff, because if that is the case all it leaves room for is off topic stuff.

I do not devide the forums out of whack. I do research, I listen to people. I evaluate all of that and then I make a change.

Classifieds forums were split because it makes it easier to browse them. They are well organized now. If you are JUST browsing, you can JUST browse them either way. But people that LOOK FOR SPECIFIC stuff, can look in the proper forum.

Now, the Bay Area classifieds is an add-on. Not a substiture. You are welcome to double post stuff in BA classifieds and regular one.

The reason meatings forum was created is because we have a lot off meetings. We also have a lot of post happy people that bury meet posts up. And, I dont want to have 10 stickies on the top.

I understand your reasoning, but realize that this takes all of the regional/local subaru topics OUT of BAIC.

LOL.

Seriously, I didnt like the idea of the Meeting sub menu when it first came into existence but now that it's been here a while it makes more sense to me. It's, how you say, grown on me.

I'm assuming that the classifieds section will have the same effect.

You make no sense. How did I take OT out of BA? I left BA OT where it was and moved the MEETINGS posts deeper in it.

If we look at the number of threads in the BAIC Meetings and Events sub-forum, there's a bunch of 'em that no longer need to be stickied at the top of the parent BAIC forum. It got to the point where even recent posts were 'fighting' for room on the first page - too many stickies! It isn't that those Meets and Events threads weren't 'worthy' of being stickied, but just the sheer number of them pushed everything else way down automatically. Yet, if it's a regular meet or an upcoming event, it almost needs to be stickied.

The For Sale items posted in BAIC could hardly see the light of day unless it was a really hot-moving item. Now, with their own dedicated BAIC sub-forum, they are easy to browse by local folks who want to find a deal within an easy drive.

That's my take on the BAIC sub-forums. It seems easier to find what I'm looking for. Maybe it's just the way that I browse the forums...

I vote no on the splitting... sorta I think its a useful idea... but on the other hand it rarely occurs to me to check them.

And the classified forum? Damn Zoeb just sits on it all freakin day. This makes it easier for him to be the forsale-***** and keep us from getting the good deals so he can resell stuff he never wanted in the first place for more $$$ !

I make perfect sense. Read it again.

I said "that this takes all of the regional/local subaru topics OUT of BAIC.".

Then I said you took all the ON TOPIC (ie.. for sale/subaru/meets/etc) threads and moved them away. This makes the main BAIC have much less subaru value. It will be just the post ******.

But it might grow on me. Whatever, it's your forum.
