Over $3.50 for 87 in Hawaii... Weeeeee. Wonder when it's time for the gov't to step in and make the monopolists play nice.

Love the 'but Microsoft...." quote in there. Maybe so, but people don't need to buy Windows to get to work to feed their family in a supposed 'fuel crisis' that we have now. What a crock of crap.

I will be biking soon as well. I can't believe the people that fill 45gal tanks and stuff in things like Suburbans and such. $3.59x45=EEK.

I think the government needs to regulate this ****. like "gas companies cannot raise the price above 400% of what they pay for it" so if they pay $0.50 a gallon, then the max price can be $2.00... i know its against our "thang" as the Americans, but I think its more unamerican to exploit the nation the way companies like exxon are...

regulation isnt what is needed, more players in the market is what needed.

Our gas is cheap compared to the world. And it's not marked up 200%.

FYI, the gov't makes more money off gas than the gas co's, so why would they want to stop the price hikes?!?! It's quite gay if you ask me.

Amen, these mergers and aquisitions have brought us right back to the 1920's when JD Rockefeller owned all the oil companies, At least back then there was one person to point a finger at- only now its a shadier bunch of CEO's and Directors that have a network of control over these markets.

Shareholders are actually just along for the ride since the directors and officers along with a handful of other influential majority shareholders tend to always hold a controlling interest anyway...I hate to disagree with you dre- but I think some sort of regulation is in order, lack thereof is why we have no viable alternatives competing for market share.

I am a believer in capitalism, provided that companies can be held to some standards of social responsibility and long term sustainability, and especially in life sustaining businesses like energy and health care- but the way it is being practiced in this country, the concept is just broken.
