Exhaust Decision
I'm going for a stealth look and can't decide which way to go with my exhaust.
Option 1:
Stock WRX exhaust with an electronic exhaust cutout that I can open for power. When I want to be on the low-down, I would flip a switch, it closes, now my car seems mostly stock.
Option 2:
Borla Hush exhaust.
I like the idea of option 1 because I can be uber stealth then open it up and have full power. I like option 2 because I'd get the sound and power all the time, but it still looks stock-ish.
What do you think I should do?
BTW, I am planning on a VF34 w/ black FMIC, DP, UP, etc.

i just ordered a stromung dual tip with 3" piping. although you seem more into the whole stealth thing so get the borla hush especially if you're getting an uppipe and a downpipe. the upp/dp makes the stromung much louder almost like other aftermarket brands. the borla seems to hold its hushness. hope that helps

One or the other, not both.

+1 hush. There are going to be times where you don't want to open the flange, yet you want the increased power. Take driving up a long constant grade for example. You won't want to open the flange for fear of the annoying thrumming sound it would produce, yet you may like a little extra power. The Hush would accomplish this with minimal noise (for a TBE) and stealthy looks.

+1 for Stromung dual-tip, I love mine. if you're in San Jose let me know, you can take a ride in my car(up/down stromung divorced wastegate, stock 3rd cat, 2.5" stromung cat-back).

I have the Borla Hush, it's louder than I like, and I'm kind of stockish so take that for what it's worth.
Get the full 3" version from MPJ, it's really worth it for the adapter kit.
Most exhausts are louder than stock. If you get the cutout, the problem becomes what are you tuned for? If you are running something that can handle multiple maps, aka access port, then you're okay - but you'll have to pay for multiple tunes, but if you are running a single map, aka ECUTEC, then you have problems with the cutout.
