Equal or Unequal Length Headers

So I am finally starting to mod my engine. I am done with my wheelwhoring stage LoL. As of right now, I have a VF43 and STi top mount in the mail and picking up a Titek catless DP this coming Friday. I just purchased a Walbro 255 fuel pump and NGK 1 step cold plugs and will be purchasing a Hallman MBC when I go get all this stuff installed and tuned by Ed @ EQ. I am also starting to look at headers now as well. My question to you guys is should I get an equal length or an unequal length? I talked to Bryan @ AutoHQ and we briefly talked about the Tomei equal length header. Which brand would you guys go with? What do you have? I heard an unequal length takes away the boxer rumble (which I would kinda like to keep) but gives your more HP. Help me out. Thanks guys.

Equal takes away from the rumble.

Equal also has significant gains.

Brand? Well, this is all debatable, but Perrin, APS are usually the fan favorites. BUT, if you never want to buy another header again, the Full Race header is teh s3x0rz.

Its not worth the money unless you get equal length but it gets rid of the rumble. If you want to keep the rumble save the money you would spend on unequal length headers and spend it on something else that will give you some bang for your buck.

I have Perrin Equal length, I like the HP gain put I miss the the rumble. You decide, do you want the sound or the power. I would rather have the power!!!

yeah Andy, equal length will give you the most gains. i have an unequal on my car, and i didn't really get much more power out of it.......but i got the header for free, so i can't complain.

Perrin is highly regarded. APS just released their latest version, but like I mentioned, the Full Race headers are un****witable.

Everyone who said equal will give you the most gains needs to do some more research. There have been reports that the Gruppe-S Unequal Length header with a up-pipe that actually matches the 2.4" collector on the header will make more power over the perrin el w/ the perrin up-pipe. All the info is on nasioc.
