Interesting. What's the difference between this double slip design and others (non double slip). Just curious because I never seen such design for uppipe. I have seen it on catback, but not on uppipe.

it looks like it makes installing the uppipe much easier. not exactly sure.

slips are pretty common in quality header design. Thermal expansion has a place to expand without putting some much stress on the welds of a solid pipe, without the ribbed flex joint flow path of a flex pipe.

How's the intake coming?
No taper on this prototype.. its just a 2" pipe the whole way. We'll be doing testing with a couple different versions with different sizing and tapers soon.

The intakes should be all finished up tomorrow

Exactly

The slip joint allows for expansion with heat as well as aids in easy fitment and installation especially with other aftermarket parts. It ends up being relatively smooth inside, so it doesn't interrupt flow like a flex section. The main problem with slip joints has always been leaks, so instead of using a standard slip joint like most headers currently on the market, we used a double slip joint. The double slip has an inner and outer sleeve that the other side slides between. Along with the quality retainer hardware, this ensures a tight seal with absolutely no leaking.

The bracket is designed specifically for a Subaru. This is the FMIC version and the TMIC version will be released soon. The price is $300 for the complete kit with can, all necessary hoses, fittings, zip-ties, and quick drain valve.

Ed do you think to much Crank case Pressure could be a cause to my motor failures, do to oil squirting out the blow by hose every time its happened?
I really need to get a catch can off you for the next time I bring the car in

That's certainly possible, but you really shouldn't be getting that much crank case pressure if the motor is in good shape in the first place. Of course even normal blow-by can put enough oil vapor into the intake tract to increase the chance of knock.

Sounds like a fun project, but I wouldn't be able to give you an honest estimate on the swap considering we have not done that particular one. I can, however, guarantee that the work will be top notch and we'll charge you fairly for the time we put into it.

that's about right... water and fuel vapor mixed in with a bit of oil. Not something I personally want to dump back into my fresh oil supply
