Tomei Cams

This car came out really nice. The turbo spools up very quickly and carries power well to redline. The transient response while driving feels very much like the stock turbo .

Thanks

Wow that is nice - you gotta hand it to an engineering firm like Tomei, $$$$ but they really know how to churn out quality, balanced setups for streetcars.

Blue is the car bone stock (no mods, stock map). Red is the same car, same day with just a Hallman MBC and EQ Custom Tune. The gains were great all around and I know this car will be back soon with more mods

Thanks

Nice numbers.... you guys didn't recommend that he at least complete his break in before tuning? Just curious about that.

It's amazing what these cars can turn out with minimal part swaps.

This car belongs to a shop owner in so-cal who's a good friend. Generally we would definitely recommend completing more of a break-in, but this customer was interested in doing an aggressive break-in and getting a good tune on it right away. It would be interesting if the overall power levels climb a bit as the motor gets more broken in.

This is an 02 WRX that we had in last week. We swapped out his loud BPM TBE for a nice stealthy MadDad TBE with high flow cat. Then of course it was time for a re-tune. This car has:

MadDad Whisper TBE (Catted)
Cobb SF Intake
Inlet
Y-Pipe
Hallman MBC
EQ Custom Tune on 91 Octane:

This made really nice power for a quiet, catted setup!

This is an 05 WRX that we finalized yesterday. We tried to tune this car before, but the Blouch turbo was having some major boost creep. So ported the wastegate for the customer and everything works great now. This car has:

Blouch Big 16G
DW650cc Injectors
APS 65mm CAI
STI TMIC
Perrin Inlet
Walbro
Hallman MBC
EQ Custom Tune on 91 Octane:

Thanks

I was pretty impressed with the setup all around. It seems to work quite well on pump gas and the response is really nice. The turbo spooled up a bit quicker than I expected but still made some nice top end power. I'm sure the cams helped with that as well. I do think their parts can be overpriced, but the quality seems to be pretty nice overall.

Wow. How come so much torque? I don't even make close to that. Congrats on the numbers. Great job Ed.

To be honest, I'm not sure why it made this much torque... definitely more than I expected. The customer did ask to push the tune a bit, so we're running about 19.5psi on it. That boost always helps with mid range torque, but this one still made surprising numbers.

Here is a 2008 STI I tuned today:

Perrin Catted DP
Magnaflow Catback
Perrin Inlet
Perrin Intake
MadDad EL Headers/UP
AVO Fuel Pump
Hallman MBC
EQ Custom Tune using Cobb AP V2

This was tuned on 91 Octane in about 55F weather. Peak boost is set at 19.5psi:

I've been getting more and more stock turbo cars approaching the 300whp mark lately. The nice cold weather certainly helps with that, but I also believe we're starting to see better and more consistent setups all around.

Thanks

Nice! The cold weather, and more specifically out by the coast, makes my cars happy.

See you guys tomorrow, planning on stopping by.

Most likely early afternoon between 1 and 2 if that works. Shouldn't take too much of your time - dropping off a bike for Alex and wanted to chat with you about "swaptions."

Sorry I missed you today. I was out tuning a car that did 405whp on 91 Octane .

Give me a call sometime and we can discuss your options.

Thanks
