What's more interesting to me than that is the bump right before the dip - if you watch the video of one of my runs, you can see what looks like the car going rich for an instant at what seems like right about halfway through the pull. It's a puff of smoke from the tailpipes right around then. Sounds like some tuning is in order!! I tried to see if I can feel that on the way home, but I think I am going to need the front straight at Thunderhill to really tell - it's just not possible to keep my foot in it for more than a second or so on the highway.

Here's my car getting set up when we realized we needed to pull the ABS fuses..

My car's second run - watch the tailpipes about half-way through:

My wheel on the 3rd pull:

Just silly!

Big tires on the rollers.. The combo of tall, new off-road tires and a torque converter made this one somewhat hard to get a reading:

ZR1 on the dyno...

So wicked..

Let me know when we can bring the V8's back!

Great post, thanks for posting all the graphs and details. You don't see this kind of info very often, makes a great comparison! Nice work Ed.

Wish I could've seen Michelle's LGT also, thanks for putting it on the dyno! Good to have a comparison vs stock numbers.

BTW I wasn't using a Cobb OTS, I got my stage 2 e-tune from Infamous Tuning (socal).

So when's the next dyno day? I got more parts itching to go in and get those numbers up.

Really like seeing those dynos. I gotta say though. I am a little scared about my 2010 wrx in comparison to Derek's '11. The books say I am supposed to get 265, but his best run was just shy of 220. Also, another question; was the dyno running low as well? Don't get me wrong though, I am still happy with the amount of power it is giving me. Plenty enough to have some fun.

These numbers are at the wheels. The 265hp rating is at the crank. The dyno is definitely a bit of a heartbreaker as well.

Ah, my mistake, I'll fix that. We're planning on having one dyno day about every month.

BTW, Michelle's LGT is an auto which generally loose a bit more power to the wheels.

Thanks

Most likely a bit less. We need to get some giant fans to reproduce the airflow these cars see on the real road

I think the 265 is flywheel horsepower, you can expect somewhere in the neighborhood of 20% power loss through the drivetrane.
