Educated CHP officer

so my buddie mike (apexwagon) was picking up a friend of ours, taking advantage of the awd around a turn or two a chp officer spotted his limo tint all around and decides to enforce the law. After the officer takes all mikes info he askes him if he has any cat's in his exhaust because he thought it was a little bit loud, mike hesitates for a second studders, and befor he could even tell him anything about his exhaust the officer says
"if you make me get on my hands and knees to check, and your lieing im going to impound your car" so obviously mike not wanting to loose his car replys
"there are no cats officer"
Then the CHP ask's him to pop his hood
Officer looks directly at mikes downpipe, says 2.5inch turbo back exhaust?
mikes says no 3..
Mike also got written up for no plates and another fit-it for not removing his tinat asap (he got a ticket about a week ago for it)

If I were a cop I'd nail anybody who runs catless... there is no freaking excuse to deliberately pollute the air.

haha, good stuff! sucks for your friend, but it's good knowing that there are knowledgeable and competent law enforcers out there who are unbiased.

i hope he is equally discerning with different makes/models of cars!

+1 and I can totally understand why they do it. It's really easy to smell/spot and usually easy to ID the car making the smells. They get to issue a citation for it on the spot as well as look for other things, make threats about further issues and best of all it's a lot easier than going after people that are actually causing problems. It's not too hard to figure out.

Seems pretty dumb to run catless. You don't get much out of it, and you are basically advertising to any police as you drive by them. As far as hurting the environment, mebbe but then you should probably be more pissed at anyone who drives a diesel.

It seems to me that a catless subie puts out much less emission and pollutants than those are that do not require smog check. it's probably 10 subie : 1 ratio in terms of pollution. Although it is no excuse to run catless, unless you're broke...

Just yesterday I was stuck behind a kharmangia, sure they're cool looking, but the guy kept revving the annoying motor and kept spewing so much crap out the tail pipes
