Eco-movement reaches a new level - Toyota Prius Hearse

http://gizmodo.com/5301160/the-2010-toyota-priushearse

Trust us: If there's one time you can get away with a not-so-green lifestyle, it's when you're dead.

Still, this Toyota Prius Hearse plans to unleash its green yuppie fury on Japan's funeral circuit. For just $80,000 a pop, you too can ride around (rotting) in the finest of posthumous eco luxury. According to a rough translation and some metric conversion, it looks like this supersized Prius gets 52 miles per gallon. That's really pretty good for a dead person mobile. It's just too bad you won't be around to appreciate the fuel savings while giving smug looks to truck drivers at the pump.

How would that little engine be able to haul that much car...with a driver, assistant, 2-4 attendants (if applicable) as well as a 5-600lb deceased and casket?

You want to REALLY be eco-friendly when you die? Get cremated. So much land is being taken up by cemeteries - pretty soon we won't have any more room.

Haha why do you think I ended with the icon? Because I really have nothing positive to say about the car or its idea. I found it extremely amusing and just wanted to share the (IMHO) stupidity.

But I am with you on the cemetery bit, I live next to one and as very nice as it is, they get priority over my apartment complex on any land related issues surrounding us. That is why my complex has an extreme parking deficiency while the cemeraty can host a superbowl game
