I'm def going the E85 route when there are more fuel stations on the band wagon in the bay area... Nearest one near my house is days away

GREAT numbers! For that amount of mods, thats incredible!

However, the stock rails are a series system, so there will be some variation in the amounts of fuel to the various cylinders. You either have to tune per cylinder (which is only possible on the 32 bit ECUs and really nobody does that because it's a total nightmare) or you have to tune for whatever the worst cylinder is.

Parallel rails will help reduce the fueling differences between cylinders and so will net you a small amount of extra horsepower due to them all being more even.
This is pretty much right on. Fuel rails are not required, but can help a bit at these flow rates.

Thanks

I agree... as long as you have an E85 station near by, its a very enticing option. The only thing most people upgrade for E85 are injectors and fuel pump if necessary. The increased fuel demand is the only major difference.

And use a tank of gas just to pick some up haha. I will think about it when e85 makes in to or close to San Mateo.

It is very enticing, there is an E85 station 4 miles from my house. But that is very limiting, my family lives up north but theres no E85 pumps in that area... plus I don't want to always plan around getting gas in my car or having to constantly switch maps. Meth injection sounds more convenient.

Ed - On a setup like DownSTi, how much power do you think the car would have gotten with meth injection (instead of the E85)?

I need more power but cant afford a turbo kit so Meth and E85 are my two options. I love my 100 octane but thats a pain.... expensive too.

Its nice to finally see a few subies running E85 locally(ish). I have been running it in my evo for awhile now and imo its the best thing to happen to the auto scene in a real long time. Not sure if its the same across the board and maybe Ed can chime in but for us it not only makes a **** ton more power but also runs 100x better in just about ever way possible, and is better for your motor for the most part as well since you wont get carbon build up and it cleans everything out. I was putting down a bit over 400whp on GST's mustang dyno with my 03 evo and stock turbo for around 10k miles with zero problems before swapping turbo's out and have been on the new turbo for around 4k with no issues. Absolutely love the stuff.

Oh and for anyone thats farther north towards sonoma county, santa rosa will be getting a E98 super station in the next year or so which should be fun.. As for other new stations, San Francisco is getting its first station by mid 2010 from what I understand.

Well you can sell your stock turbo for around 100 and get a used 18g for pretty cheap and make some power? For about the same price as a Meth kit+the money you will spend on meth/alky

Why can't they just build us a damn E85 station in So Co? Why does it have to be E98. I am tired of $7/gal 104oct, and $6-7/gal E98 (or whatever it will cost when it's actually available locally) is not something I care for. If they offer E85, E89, and E98, I would be a happy camper. If it's a station with just E98 and gasoline, or something like that, then count me out. If only we had E85 or E89.
