DVD Movies take forever to burn.

So I am burning a movie onto a dual layer dvd...
and jeeze... an hour later it's still converting the damn *.avi files to DVD files so it can be played on a regular dvd player.

I wonder if quadcore would make this faster... but I guess it's also question of if the software will run on quadcore.

Almost an hour later exactly and it is 11% done with the conversion.. then once it hits 100% it will burn the disc.

conversion does take a long time

I have a dual core, 3gig ram, and it takes almost an hour to convert my 700 MB avi to mp4

That's definitely not the burner but the conversion time.

A quadcore would easily help, lol, but what program do direct avi to dvd conversion using multi-threads, i don't know...

^^I found a new program. WinAVI so far I am verrrry happy.
in 20 minutes it was already 40% done opposed to an hour and being 10% lol.

So I recommend this! My friend who does a lot of burning told me about it and it's working very fast and it converts the avi files to a dvd iso.

you should render your final product to mpeg 2.

that way, dvd burning software dont have to do any conversion...
