Angry Double-Parking=Moving Violation?!?

I was double parked in front of lincoln high school in sf, just saying hi to a friend (only took a couple of seconds). A car was behind me but it didn't pass me up. After following me for 4 blocks, it pulls me over. It was an unmarked Ford Explorer. He got me for "Impedeing the flow of traffic." He said that he would have just given me a parking ticket but I was in the car and my car was running. So next time you're double-parked, make sure you're not in the car with the engine running.

If its in a residential area with wide streets and he pulled over for a second to talk with a friend I would think that you could get it taken care of. I dunno, make up an excuse, lie, rape, pillage. hehe

wondering if there was lanes marked on the road, or is it one of those small streets without even lane markings?

This happened in the Sunset. The streets are a little wider than a normal street in San Francisc, but it still sucks when people double park. SF has been cracking down on double parkers in general over the last few years because they do impede the flow of traffic and cause other drivers to slightly drive into the opposite lane. It especially sucks when the driver is in the car talking to someone.

hehe

well you were also about 50 feet from the Taravel Police station there on 24th

it's the cushiest assignment in the city and the cops don't have much to do besides harass the high school kids in the Sunset. These are the same guys that used to bust up every keg in Stern Grove when I was in HS

I used to live on 24th and Taravel...I know what it's like
