you guys are all funny and had me rolling on the floor :rotfl:
Private property for trespassers can be fined. I know that that it may not be nice, but if they are repeat offenders, tar and feather them baby! Look into the barbed wire, setup the signs the guys suggested, lol and make some copies of the law and your signs with you in your car and next time you come across someone before you run them down. Show them the papers and signs and escort them off while calling the cops like stated already. Btw, it's not your fault if you kill their dog on your parent's property. Accidents do happen. The law's the law...unfortunately or fortunately...

I would be mad, being able to drive your car on that road has to be the best part of having a private road such as you do.

Do what you have to do to retain your driving rights.

i hate to be an @$$, and you may not be a stereotypical rich kid, but this story begs the statement, so i have to say it:

boo freakin hoo... so the rich boy cant handle the pedestrians...

seriously though, even though they are illegaly TRESSpassing, they are still people... so you should still treat them like people. dont just pass them off and treat them like criminals or something... would you want them to do that to you? but given the situation and how abrupt everything might have happened, i can see myself getting pissed in the moment too. still though, i would suggest asking them nicely if they noticed the signs, or just ask them not to walk on private property.

screw being nice. He said the whole driveway is lined with Private Property/No Tresspassing signs. And they aren't pedestrians, they are tresspassers.

They blatantly ignored them and entered HIS propery, how disrespectful is that?

THey showed him no respect, why should he return it?

This is no different than someone just walking into your house uninvited and plopping down on the couch and watching the tv. "oh my bad, I didnt see any signs for no visiting TV watchers"

My driveway is only 15 feet long, but if I find some stranger walking their dogs and kids on it I'd be pretty pissed.

next time, stop your car, call the cops, raise hell...it's your right.

If you see it happen, escort them from the property. Im serious, follow them until they leave, make sure they know its private property and they can not be there and tell them if it happens again you will call the police and they will be fined and/or arrested.

its the same argument as: if you kill a burglar in your house, you go to jail...

true, screw being nice, but why increase the malice to perpetuate hate.

As I said, I didn't yell at them. I have never yet been mean to a single TRESSpasser. Nowadays the majority the time I just look the other way, otherwise I nicely remind them they are on private property. I honestly care less about dog walkers than my parents (who are afraid someone will tresspass, manage to hurt themselves and sue us) beoynd the fact I really don't desire to run anyone over. I just want to be able to legally drive fast somewhere. Yes I may be spoiled in the fact that I have a private road as compared to having to visit sears point, but would you do any different in my situation? Hell, I spent multiple summers of my youth building the road, I think I have right to enjoy driving it.

Well, it SOUNDS like the lady was the one being a jerk. It's totally within his rights (not just lawful rights...I'm talking about about basic human rights) to drive like a maniac on his own property. He shouldn't have to apologize for driving too fast and she shouldn't have opened up her yapper. And apparently, the guy's family has been "okay" with people going on their property for the past years. In any event, I just don't see how the guy can possibly be wrong in this case.

Like someone else pointed out...I'm not rich and my driveway/front yard is damn tiny. But I spent time buiding a nice fountain and little garden for my family in my front yard, and if someone decides to just walk up the driveway and enjoy the garden, then proceed to mock at my pathetic, woeful garden, I'd be darn angry too.

well if the lady HADENT made the smart remark, I would have been a nice guy and said hay, your more then welcome to use my driveway to walk your animals and dogs, but just be aware that it is private property, and I have every intention of driving my car at ludicrous speeds up and down it.

But because she DID cop an attitude, I would have slammed the brakes, quickly stepped out of the car and violently exclaimed “what exactly do you think your doing on my driveway?” which would have most likely been followed by a meek “oh this is a drive-“ which would have been quickly cut off by “I don’t care what the hell you think, you get your ***** *** off my property before I make up some reason to twist your face from your torso”. Then I get back in my car and slowly drive up the hill waving goodbye, and saying I hope you have a great day.

Why not just put a gate at the entrance of the driveway?
