Dog walkers on my racecourse, am I rightfully mad?

Dog walkers on my racecourse, am I rightfully mad?
My parents have a house in the hills outside Santa Rosa. The driveway to get to it is a mile and 2/10s. Its a winding hillclimb that is rather enjoyable to drive (aka timetrial). As its private property, I have been driving it for years, far longer than I ever had a drivers liscence, and know every twist and turn. We only have one neighbor with an easement over the road, and besides that there SHOULD be no other traffic, etc. Furthermore I know where to see through the trees on all corners, so my chance of meeting an oncomming vehicle is almost nothing.
Yesterday I am flying up the road like I normally do, enjoying one of the few places I can legally push my car to it's limits. I just made it through the mini laguna seca corkscrew (I'll post a pic some time) and I nearly lock my brakes having to come to a stop. Right in front of me are 2 women, some small children and a dog directly in the center of the road. The road is peppered with no trustpassing signs everywhere yet this still happenes. Furthermore one of them gave some smart remark allong the lines of "thanks for not hitting my dog." This is not the first time this has happened, but it's really getting to me. Am I rightfully mad? Did my family's property turn into a state park and no one informd us? WTF I'm worried some day I'm gonna end up hitting someone on the road, yet it doesn't seem fair I should have to change my driving habits there because people ignore 20 no trustpassing signs to go hiking on it. Anyone got ideas how to deal with this?

report them to the cops.
1. ask then NICELY if they know this is private property. could be a simple mistake.
2. is they give you attitude, call the cops asap. record them for legal purposes.

hmmmm, thats a interesting situation......I'd be kinda upset too if I were you, especially since it IS private property with posted no trespassing signs....BTW, its TRESPASSING, not "trustpassing." So did you tell the lady that gave you attitude to get the F*CK off your PRIVATE property, or you'll call the cops on her and her dog for trespassing? Thats what I wouldda done.....the look on her face would have been priceless after that. hee hee

Sounds like you're justifiably upset. Would the cops really come out there though to enforce the trespassing violation? Would the trespassers hang around to wait for the cops? If there's nothing (i.e. fence or gate) or no one to enforce what's to stop the casual dogwalker? Just playing devil's advocate.
One would think that you're within your legal right to drive how you wish on your own property. Maybe the Trespassing sign should read "Violation may result in being run down"

It doesn't matter if you are on private property or not - if you hit them, you WILL be responsible for it.
If you really want to drive like a nut out there, you need to post signs such at at any given point on the road, there is a sign that clearly states something like "This road is private property and may be in use by HIGH SPEED RACING at any time. Do not walk on this road". At least then you have some excuse.

gate a gate with above said signs.
add something like "PRIVATE ROAD doubles as RACE TRACK. The property and vehicle drivers owner are not responsible if you are injured or killed if you trespass."
That will keep them away.
If they are neighbors, tell them nicely you do not want anyone hurt, but you don't get to the race track often so you'd like to have some fun on your driveway.
