Dog acupuncture or chiropractic?

Dog acupuncture or chiropractic?
My dog is hurting bad. Vet X-ray says nobreaks, probable disc slip. Have him drugged but its not improving yet. Been thinking of alternative medicine. I have to carry him to pee and he can't barely move.
I have heard but have no experience with animal alternative medicine. Any help?

My dog had to have back surgery - cost was stupid high.
I've never heard of any alternative that worked...with people it's a little tiny bit different, but it is also short lived...good luck.

The difference is that VMS (I went to the one in San Mateo) has a dozen vets, all with different specialities, on hand to diagnose the problem. I've never used anybody else since. I would highly recommend them

Closest vms is in Campbell. We're gonna take him to del Mar in Aptos for a second opinion and look in to acupuncture. The vet said to talk to a surgeon when we called him today but we just can't afford that. Hell finding 125 for the second opinion is hard enough. We're taking him off the pain meds to see if he can walk off the drugs. Right now he can't barely stand let alone walk. Hasn't gone to the bathroom in days. Just getting worse at this point.

Marvin Anderson... he works on my horse, super nice guy and really good with animals. He started out as a human chiro, and then started working on horses and dogs. (408)482-5923.
Hope your pup stars feeling better soon!

what kind of dog is it? my fiances pug one day all of a sudden couldnt walk on her back legs, she is also young. the vet said it was degenerative disc disease, and she had to be in a dog cage for three weeks to prevent her from walking, jumping, stuff like that. she now walks, jumps, and does normal dog activities, but here and there her rear legs do give out. for the most part she is pretty much normal now.. maybe you can try that.. hope everything works out for you dude. good luck!!
