Between me, jeff and justin we've done everything on my car short of scheduled maintenance (warrantee work) and my clutch. I had GST do a killer job on that.

I drive to my friends shop and we do the work on my car and my families cars on our own. but i have receipts for everything this way. I help out but he honestly does the majority of the work as he is more knowledgeable and I have zero tools myself to do it. So I rely on him. I pay a lot less for parts and labor this way. I still try to make it worth his time to help me but in the end it is always well worth it cause he takes better care of my cars then customer cars...

they be homies

I voted for friends doing it just because LIC are more like homies than a shop I go too.

+1 for LIC

I also don't have the know how or the tools and space to work on my car. It's my DD and don't have another way around town if it's down. Better if it gets done right.

I used to do everything to my car by myself but that got really old after a while, so now I pay to have shops like GST and Speed Element do my dirty work... I typically do my maintenance by myself however.

I just swapped an engine in my integra, to find out the one I swapped had a bent valve. I just paid to have someone else swap it after that.

I will do general work on my gf's MR2, but I don't know too much about it to get technical with it.

The alltrac just scares the crap outta me. No room to do anything in the engine bay.
