i have done stuff myself, but for my 105K service, i just took it to LIC. In and out in 3 hours, $500 and 1/2 that were parts.

a big part of that is handing that receipt to a potential future buyer of your car when you sell it.

I do most all my own service work and the few mods I have. Also my own details too.The only time I take it in is if I dont have the time or tools/machines to do the work.

Exactly. My MR2 I never plan to sell so everything is done by me. The Camry however, I plan on selling in 2-3 years so I paid a friend's shop to do the swap just for the paper trail for the potential buyer.

i do some mods by myself ..... and regular maintenance myself .... but i take it to the shop for any other bigger modifications. Like VF34 and STI TMIC. and injectors and fuel pump. will be done by tuning shop pretty soon. Its better to be safe then SORRY that's just my thinking.

It depends...if it's easy bolton stuff I'll attempt it myself and so far have been pretty alright. Now if it's something big like a motor or drivetrain....I pawn it off on LIC

LIC did my 30k and recently my 105k(timing belt, water pump, crank seal, thermostat). The timing belt is no joke unless you have the cam gear and crank tools(big and $400~ or so each from the dealer).
I gladly paid LIC to do it. $400 is well worth it to me not having to pull the radiator and timing belt.

All the work myself if I have the tools. Anything requiring lifts and tools I don't have, then a shop. ANY of my cars.

Engine wise I had it done professionally but I did my coilovers, strut tower bars and sway bars because that ****s easy. Had my friend align it though on the digital thing at his work.
