Do you tip the valet? (poll included)
I've noticed in the past 5 or so months that I've been working as a valet that Subaru owners tip horribly compared to other car brands. By horribly I mean $1 or stiffed.
So how much do you usually tip valets at nice places (we do high end private parties and country clubs)?

i am too cheap to use a valet, BUT if i did, i would tip well, only because you have to trust the person you are giving the keys to lol

I usually don't valet park. And when a place forces me to, I usually don't tip cause I'm bitter they forced me to use valet.
But, all other things considered, when I do actually use valet, I usually do a fiver.

When I was a valet in walnut creek I always got tipped. It would be very stranged not to get tipped and we would document the people who didn't.
Just remember to butter up the customer

I always tip around 4 bucks.
If it is a place where the Valets actually wear running shoes and actually RUN like 2 blocks to get my car quickly, I would tip a lot more than at ****ing BJs where he walks less than 5 feet to my car. **** is stupid.

You guys that think your cars are something special are cracking me up! Come on, you have to know that Subarus are **** compared to other stuff out there. We park Bentlys, Astons, AMG Benzs, tons of high end Bimmers and Audis, Porsches... even Ferraris and Vince Neal's Lambo!

Depends on if the kid looking up my skirt as I get in my car is obnoxiously obvious about it or not. Real tip comes if he actually returns my seat to the position it was in (or somewhere close) when he gives my car back... I'm an effing midget, it's not rocket science, I clearly can't drive my car if the seat is all the way back.
Also, running thru snow def gets a good tip. Like other people have said: dumbasses at BJ's don't get crap. *I* can walk the 10 ft to my car, and I didn't want you driving it in the first place.
EDIT: Voted for $5-$9 because I mainly use valet at places where it's snowing, but if it's not snowing I tip more like $3-$4.

By that same notion, why do you tip waitresses? What about their job deserves a tip? Getting your order right? Bringing your order out in a timely manner? Polite attitude?

I think my car is special because I dropped $25K of MY hard earned money on it, and that is not something I will be able to afford to do again for quite some time. I also depend on it to live my life (school, work, barn etc) so if I don't have it, I'm screwed.
However, compared to other more expensive cars... no, it's not special.
